How to make Vaseline - Petroleum Jelly
In today's Tutorial, I will show you how to make petroleum jelly at home with these easy steps.
The quantity of ingredients to use and the procedures to follow will also be stated.
If you want to make your own petroleum jelly then do this:
Let me remind you that you don't need to use water when making it.
Some might start wondering why? The reason is because you are going to use paraffin oil which is going to serve as water. Paraffin oil is part of the Ingredients you will use.
Now, let's get started.
You need to get Paraffin oil. 6 table spoons of it if you want to make your own petroleum jelly at home. Let me introduce you to this particular ingredient. This oil I told you to get is the oil that will help you to reduce the thickness of your Vaseline. Remember that I told you earlier that you don't need water. This paraffin oil will help you. I hope you know the benefit now.
Then let's move to the next thing. You need:
Petroleum jelly: 1 and 1/2 cup of it. This is the one that will help you to thicken and also hold your Vaseline together.
The next thing you need is
Paraffin wax: 2 teaspoons of it. This particular one will help you to hold the mixture together.
And also get
Lanolin: 1 table spoon of it. This ingredients gives the vaseline an elastic feel which will make it to appear thick.
And also get:
Fragrance: this will give it a nice flavour or scent.
Get:
Vitamin E : 1 table spoon of it which will work as an anti-oxidant for nourishing dry and crack skin.
you can also decide to add colour to your Vaseline or not ( blue, green, yellow, brown or neutral)
Now that we have listed all the ingredients you need. Let's show you the step by step explanatory procedures:
The first thing you need to do is to drop a clean pot on a heat ( stove) and now add your paraffin oil, add paraffin wax, add petroleum jelly and also add your lanolin.
After adding everything, allow them to dissolve.
After they must have dissolve, mix them properly
After mixing, you can now add Vitamin E and allow it to dissolve too.
Then drop the pot from heat and also it to cool down a bit.
After that, add your Fragrance and scoop into your already used vaseline container and allow it to settle inside your container while cooling gently.
