HOW TO MAKE MEAT PIE
I actually love meatpie, you can fry your meatpie or bake it. People who do not have oven can fry the meapie.
Even if you don't have oven, you can bake your meatpie at home with pot and Sand.
Ingredients you need to make the dough:
500 grams of Flour
250 grams of Margarine/Butter
2 Teaspoon of Baking powder
Salt
cup of water.
4 Eggs (Optional)
Meatpie filling Ingredients:
Minced meat.
4 medium sized Irish potatoes.
3 medium sized Carrots.
2 table spoons of Thyme
2 table spoons of flour.
Groundnut oil
2 maggi cubes
Salt to taste
A cup of water
Others:
Frying pan
Dough cutter
Rolling pin
Chopping board
How to prepare the Dough:
Mix the flour, baking powder and Salt well.
Add the magarine or butter and mix it very well.
Add 3 eggs (this is optional) and mix all properly.
Then u add water and mix well. Be careful when pouring the water, it must not be too much.
Knead the Dough well until u get a thick and non sticky dough.
After you have done this, put it is a plastic that has cover.
Take a plate and break another egg which you will whisk and set aside.
Now:
Cut/dice your carrot, peel your potatoes and set it aside too.
Place your pan on fire, add vegetable oil.
Add ur your washed minced meat and stir thoroughly until it changes colour.
Then add the diced potato and carrot.
Add a cup of water, thyme, maggi and salt to taste. Cover the pot until it is cooked.
Now, mix the 2 table spoons of flour in water to get milky texture.
When the filling is cooked, add the mixed flour and stir.
Now, for the dough: Pour little piece of flour on the chopping board. Take a small quantity and roll it with the rolling pin.
Use the Dough cutter to cut circles.
The size of the meat pie is determined by the circle you cut.
Scoop up to 1-3 table spoons of the filling into the middle of the circle (cut out dough) and Leave the space you need for sealing. I am sure you won't want your meatpie to open mouth in the oil.
Brush one half of the circle with the whisk egg and carefully fold over the dough to make the 2 end touch one another.
Seal the edges with a fork.
Do this for everything.
Repeat the same process for the remaining dough and filling.
Put oil in your pan and fry.
